Our Christmas

This was a great Holiday Season for us.  Really.  For the past five years I have said this Christmas will be different, I will slow down, I will enjoy the Christmas Season, I will DO things and FEEL things and ENJOY things, instead of running around like a stressed-out maniac BUYING things.  (Mostly things that people don't even want , like, or need.) 

Well, this year, I (we) did indeed, do, feel and enjoy.

The Big Event

Life is funny.  You wait and you hope and you wish and you prepare for the big things in life. 

You work hard so you can make money and then some more money.



So that you can buy some stuff.



As a mom (or a dad) you rush around and try to get some more stuff done so that you can make your dreams happen.



You beg-plead-pray-yell-manipulate for some time to yourself. (to work more to make more money to make your dreams happen)



You grandly proclaim that something really BIG is gonna happen.  Something exciting.



Or you create big challenges for yourself.

And then, somewhere in the midst of all of this planning and working and dreaming you realize that it's all happening.



Right here, right now. 



Little things.

And great big giant exciting things.

Happy Monday

I woke up this morning with a bubbling sense of excitement.  A premonition of a good week.  Something special is gonna happen.  I don't know what, but something.  I have to say I am ready for that, any little nibblet of something fun.  Last week was a bit tough.  There was nothing I could put a finger on, just a feeling.  I saw my mom yesterday and she was looking at me and I said, "what?!", and she said, "43 was a tough one for you, huh?".  Thanks mom.  She was right though, last Tuesday was my birthday and I couldn't muster up the spirit to celebrate properly.  I even went out to dinner in my sweats.  I NEVER go out in my sweats. 


But, over the weekend I had a lot of fun dreams.  I was doing the things I love to do; playing, frolicking, painting big paintings.  I even had a makeover in my dreams!  How fun is that?  Shopping and a haircut, maybe even a mani-pedi.....................whoo-hoo, now that sounds like a celebration.

Bring it on.

** Yes, I am distracting you from the fact that I haven't finished the painting and I haven't finished cleaning up my art table.  It's all gonna happen.  Really.

I'm Workin' On It.

Not only have I not kept my art table cleared off, I have started a new huge pile of clutter on the floor.
This is not what I had in mind when I set this new challenge for myself.



Eegads. 

However, I did get inspired and started a new painting, I just wedged my way in there in between all the stuff.  I will finish it today. 



I know it looks almost just like the other one I recently did.  There is a reason for that.  I will tell you about it tomorrow.
